Hugh Nelson
has been building homes most of his life. Working
for a world-wide manufacturing company, Hugh and his family
have made their home all across the United States including
Ohio, Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Tennessee, as well as Canada and
Luxembourg. With many of these moves, Hugh found himself
designing and supervising the construction of his personal
home. Building in various regions of the country meant dealing
with various regional construction issues such as cold weather
in Ohio or extreme heat and hard, rocky ground in Oklahoma.
Building personal homes proved to be Hugh’s training for a
second career as a general contractor. When early retirement
took him to Nashville, it only seemed natural to build a
speculative home. Years later, W. Hugh Nelson Builders builds
some of the most elegant and beautiful homes in the area and
is recognized as one of the top builders in Middle Tennessee.
Regardless of how many projects are underway, Hugh finds
himself at each jobsite on a daily basis. “I believe that to
build a home that meets our standards and our expectations,
the builder must be personally involved in every phase of
construction”, says Hugh. Hugh lives in Brentwood and enjoys
playing golf with wife Janice.
